HEA Endorsed Slate of School Board Candidates

HEA is proud to endorse Lois Fitzpatrick, Siobhan Hathhorn and Kay Satre for the Helena Public Schools Board of Trustees. Lois, Siobhan and Kay all have extensive backgrounds in education: Lois as a long time teacher-librarian at Carroll College, Siobhan as a teacher, administrator and Trustee, Kay as a Carroll College professor and liaison with the secondary English teaching endorsement.

These candidates display a passion for teachers and paraeducators and a deep appreciation of what we do each and every day in our classrooms. They understand the long hours that educators put in, and the issues that we deal with on a daily basis. Lois brings a background in grant-writing and legislative lobbying; Siobhan has been an effective incumbent on the School Board, and Kay has been involved in higher education for 40 years.

All of these candidates support public education and having our tax dollars go towards quality PUBLIC education. They also support teachers and paraeducators having the resources needed in order to best serve our students.

Facilities master planning is seen as an ongoing need by all candidates, as well as improving communication with school staff and parents.
